Park Hyatt Seoul: What to Expect
This hotel feels very exclusive from the standpoint that there’s no public lobby to hang out in. As soon as you get to the hotel you’re whisked up the elevator to the check-in area which is on a very high floor of the building.
The views are gorgeous. I saw people having high tea in the restaurant, and I thought that must be a very nice experience. I had to wait in the lobby for a little bit for my room to be ready.
The workings of the hotel are a little interesting (more on that in a bit) but overall, it’s hard to match the views of the city that you get once you’re in your room. I planned my last two nights in Seoul to have some quiet time to myself and wander around the Gangnam area.
What’s Great About the Park Hyatt Seoul
The views from the room
Not only from the room but also from the bathroom. I’ll add photos for context, but honestly, I could stay here all day (and I did). Just note: at night, if your lights are on and blinds are up, people can see in from the street. I confirmed this myself while walking back from dinner. I looked up and could clearly see into some rooms. So, if you’re on a lower floor, you might want to pull the blinds during your evening soak.
The bathroom
The deep soaking tub with floor-to-ceiling windows is a real highlight. It feels like you’re in a luxury spa with a cityscape backdrop. Just be aware of privacy at night, especially on lower floors. The natural materials (stone, wood, and warm lighting) create a calm, earthy feel that’s rare in city hotels.
The gym and pool
I really enjoyed the cardio machines because the view is so interesting to look at. It’s a great way to get your bearings and see the neighborhoods around Gangnam. On the same level, there’s an indoor lap pool and spa facilities. Towels, water, and headphones are provided, and it’s rarely crowded, making it feel more exclusive.
The location
Park Hyatt Seoul is located in Gangnam, right near the Samsung subway station (Line 2), which makes it easy to get around. It’s walking distance to COEX Mall (which has the famous Starfield Library), the Bongeunsa Temple, and that quirky PSY “Gangnam Style” statue. This area also has great restaurants and is especially lively at night.
A Few Helpful Tips Before You Stay at the Park Hyatt Seoul
Getting around the building takes a moment to learn: To get from your room to the dining area, you may need to switch elevators via the lobby level. For example, if your room is on the 4th floor, you might need to first go up to the lobby, then take another lift down. It's not a dealbreaker, but it can be a bit of a puzzle until you get used to it.
Dining and seasonal promotions: Check the hotel’s website or ask in advance about seasonal brunches, afternoon teas, or chef’s specials. Park Hyatt hotels often host upscale culinary events, and Seoul is no exception. It’s worth planning your stay to align with one.
Transportation tip: The hotel is directly across from the main exit of Samseong Station (Line 2), which is super convenient. There are also plenty of taxis and rideshare options, and staff are happy to assist with directions or bookings.
Electrical outlets and adaptors: Rooms are well-equipped with international outlets and USB ports. But if you’re bringing Australian or UK plugs, having a universal adaptor is still handy.
Noise: Despite being in a busy district, the hotel is remarkably quiet thanks to the triple-glazed windows and thoughtful design.
Service: The concierge team is excellent. They’re very proactive and happy to make restaurant reservations, book tours, or give you a shopping map depending on what you're into. If you're celebrating something special, they’ll usually go the extra mile with small touches.
Is There Room Service at the Park Hyatt Seoul?
Yes, there is in-room dining at the Park Hyatt Seoul. The club sandwich is always a safe bet (and was fine), but honestly, I preferred the room service at Andaz Seoul Gangnam. If you're in a more adventurous mood, I recommend heading out to explore the local eateries nearby. Gangnam has a fantastic food scene.
Is There a Globalist Breakfast at the Park Hyatt Seoul?
Yes, breakfast is included as part of your Globalist benefit. It’s held in the hotel’s restaurant and offers a mix of Korean and Western options. The space is quite small, so during peak times, there might be a short wait. The staff handle it well, but it's something to keep in mind if you’ve got a morning tour or flight.
What Is the Globalist Gift at the Park Hyatt Seoul?
I received a few small but thoughtful items on different days. Once I was gifted a selection of chocolates, another time a neat stack of fresh oranges (which I took for my flight home).
What Is the Gym Like at the Park Hyatt Seoul?
The gym feels more like a wellness center. It’s not an afterthought like in some city hotels but well-designed, fully equipped, and connected to the spa. The views make working out feel luxurious, and if you enjoy swimming, the lap pool is just as scenic.
Why Stay at the Park Hyatt Seoul?
If you want a peaceful, design-forward retreat in the middle of Gangnam with world-class views, this is your spot. The service is exceptional, and the amenities (from the spa to the soaking tub) are top-tier. It’s ideal for travelers looking for a quiet, luxurious way to end a busy trip through Seoul, or for anyone who values thoughtful design and a serene atmosphere in the city.
